"I understand your hatred of Unions and that is your right. But food for thought these greedy USW members are the ones who give to the United way($100 plus average what do you give?) Coach Little League and many other sports, serve as deacons and such for other churches, are volunteer Firemen. Yes many buy high priced homes, that gives work to construction, real-estate folks, increases tax rolls to cities, counties, the state that pays for yours and my police/fire protection, the roads we drive on, clean water, working bathrooms. I firmly believe you should be thankful for organized labor, remember rising tides raises all boats even “Tea Pots”."

Answer : Okay - great letter folks! When there is NO ARGUMENT they call you a hater. So we get that right off the bat. This letter is what we call a sick letter. This is from a Union Leader that thinks we hate Unions. We do not - as I have said 1,000,000 times - Unions had their day and shaped the workforce and payment sector of free enterprise. They have also killed businesses in Southeast Texas and they have killed themselves. Yet - they are the definition of INSANITY but doing and saying the same things over and over and expecting a different result. The promote the biggest job killer - Obama. Yes - BUSH has his problems. And he killed many jobs. But to EVEN CONSIDER going out on a strike while getting paid between $75k and $123k a year over vacation? When you already get more vacation that the private sector or the increase in your health benefits - well blame your boy Obama for that buddy. And lastly - there has to be a way the Union mentality changes. The pipeline thing alone hit you guys in the belly again - by your democrat president who you will throw millions into getting he reelected? I feel very sad for this writer - he is back in the 60's and the mentality that helped kill what they could be today. As for my Union friends and brothers - keep the faith. These type of guys are on the way out. Give it about four years. They will be gone. And you can be a part of the free market and make $150,000 a year! I want everyone to be rich and successful. Not think they are owed.

Answer : What can we say. Life is good and the taxpayers don't care over here?

Answer : Really - because I know six in my neighborhood alone. Let's ask this question - if you don't like the company that you work for - why do you work there? Has the company ever been late on a paycheck? Have they always done what they said they would do? Now let's ask you - have you always done everything you said you would do? The "company" owes you nothing but a safe work place and a paycheck. When was the last time you wrote the chairman a letter and thanked him for hiring you? They didn't have to ya know!

Answer : Tell me something I don't know. But they are all Mr. Friendly to my face. It is funny to me how they throw the law out.

Answer : Thanks. We are now up again over last year in the first month. The counter shows about 12%. Wow.

"Just to let you know, those of us in the Hardin-Jefferson ISD and West Jefferson County have had our fill of Judge Walker. He likes to use his "influence" when dealing with the district. He informed the staff that any situations involving his family members were to be addressed in his presence only. If any situations, academically or athletic, happened, nobody is to confront his family "members" without contacting him and waiting for him to be present before addressing the situation. His family is "untouchable" in our school district. He bullies and uses intimidation to quiet any "misdeeds". He insinuates that if the staff crosses him he has the political influence to ruin their career. The ones he can't intimidate, he starts a slander campaign that usually takes a School Board intervention to get it straightened out. Keep up the pressure on Walker and run him out of Jefferson County Mr. Klein!"

"Your articles on Layne Walker have been very entertaining to read but there are some facts that you need to get straight on Arthur Louis. First of all, his last name is spelled Louis, not Lewis. Secondly, he does have a masters degree. He was a principal at Silsbee and Ozen. In Texas, you cannot be a high school principal unless you have a masters degree. He isn't just some random coach taking payoffs from the county as you are trying to make him out to be."

Answer : What can we say? Really? Seriously? We did not say that - what we said was he was NOT A LICENSED COUNSELOR? Please read.

Answer : Thank you. I do not want to be silly here - but I care as much about "intelligent people" as I do a cold night in January. It has been that way since 1993 and may never change (but we are getting better). Thanks for your wonderful comments! It is very nice of you.

Answer : There is a story in your question - okay - when I did a gig for Dateline NBC - they were with me 24 / 7 for over six months. We would laugh and talk about the politics of Southeast Texas and they would watch me get tips and write stories. It was funny tow watch them say that there was no way that what goes on down here really happens. They called it "the most corrupt county" they have ever seen. That is where I got the comment from. Jefferson County Texas - the most corrupt county in Texas. Now - do they care? No. Nobody cares - that is the problem. When the citizens care and begin to take back their county - then maybe it is a story.

For years Dr "political science" Drury was the Lamar go to guy for the local media. Non partisan, Right??? Just ask any of his students if he had an opinion in the classroom.

You see, while there may be little crossover voting from the republicans because there is a republican primary, I doubt it will be as high as you think because the repub presidential nomination will already be sown up by Romney then. Secondly, the blacks will not vote in mass numbers because Obama is in a primary of any kind. If Obama was running in the primary as he was in 08 then I would assure a Stevenson victory. Yes, he will get the old black vote but the young blacks are not going to turn out to vote for a Sherriff election.
