Sherwood Turning Herself In

The Southeast Texas Political Review has learned that LaDonna Sherwood is in the process of turning herself in for failure to stop and render aid, as well as leaving the scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident today.

“Ms. Sherwood will be turning herself in today to face the charges,” said one source with Beaumont PD.

Now, we want to say that this shows grit on her behalf, and maybe she can start the sober journey to better health and stand up for what she did. We will have more later.

Fire Fighters Still Pissed At City And You~!

In what can only be described as a Fire Fighter Union that is simply out of control, the city of Beaumont Fire Fighters Union once again has gone on the offensive. This time, shooting shots at the City Council and the administration of the City of Beaumont.

Now, before we get started, we too wanted to jump in on these numbnuts that run the city of Beaumont. We warned you time and time again that these dumb asses couldn’t run a daycare with zero children. (that story of another day)

Now, this is where we learn that, for some reason, the Fire Union has been radicalized. To negotiate with them is like negotiating with a wall.

Here is what they wrote this week on their social media:

CITY ADMITS CONTRACT VIOLATIONS

🚑

! On Friday, 1/23/26, firefighters attended arbitration because the Fire Department administration violated our contract. In the end, the city admitted to breaking the contract six times over the past two years. Instead of resolving this quickly, the city dragged out the process past the deadline to cancel arbitration, forcing taxpayers and firefighters to cover the cost of the hearings. Instead of paying each affected firefighter about $50, the city chose to waste thousands of dollars and city resources over two years to avoid a small payment. This clearly shows a blatant disregard for the rights and benefits of our first responders. Please stand with our firefighters and demand accountability. This makes 8 arbitrations where Local 399 prevailed in the last 2 years. We have several more arbitrations pending that need to be settled before the citizens incur more unnecessary costs.

Okay, so now we know each firefighter gets around $50 bucks for something. We are still waiting on our PIR from Beaumont for the pay for Firefighters and EMTs with the city. But again, that for another day? Right?

Anyway, the Fire Fighters are pissed about two things. First, breaking the contract. Our guess is they don’t even know what’s in the contract. The city leaders are pissed at the fireman and the fireman is pissed at the city. So expect delays, expect anger like two kids in the standbox, and you citizens, JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED IN PORT ARTHUR LONG AGO, get your checkbooks out and pay up. End of that story right there. IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER.

Second, the FIREMAN is mad at the citizens for voting down the big new Station 4. Now they are spreading the rumor that people are dying at Station 4. So they are now demanding a new station. Here is what they are saying:

Beaumont’s firefighters are raising concerns about carcinogen risks at a city fire station that were revealed to the public during the bond election this past November. Proposition B, which was rejected by voters, included replacing several city facilities. If that proposition had been approved, the city planned to replace Fire Station 4, a project valued at $6.6 million. During the bond process, the city revealed that Fire Station 4 lacked an exhaust removal system and was exposing firefighters to carcinogens daily. Jeff Nesom, President of the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Local 399, said the union was unaware of the daily risk the station posed until it was made public during the bond election process.

But wait, aren’t there three other stations that got an Exhaust Removal System in their fire stations? And it works. And the cost is around 50K rather than the amount of 9 million? It seems that the Union wants MO MONEY!

Now, we will give you the inside. Money is power, and power is money. There are so many easy solutions to problems in the city with the Fire/EMS systems. Both sides need to grow up and stop the fighting. So we will play arbitrator. Here is your offer? Right?

  1. Fire Union accepts that they are in the EMS business for now and forever. Pay each EMT / PARAMEDIC entry-level firefighter pay and benefits. Require them to go to Fire School and become a Fire Fighter within three years. Recruit as necessary to fill the ranks. If they don’t like it, goodbye.
  2. The City put in TODAY a new ERS system. And we mean today at station #4.
  3. The city puts into every fire station (11) an EMS unit, tiered, meaning a Med Unit (paramedic) and a BLS (basic life support unit). Increase staffing to do just that.
  4. Close down the old dispatch, move all personnel into operations, open a dispatch system with the police in the 911 center rather than off campus, and increase the 10 people assigned to fire dispatch (firefighters) into the field operations.

Now is that so hard? Saves money, puts firemen in the field, and maybe with the money savings over a few years, a down payment on a new fire station!

But what do we know? We are just some dumb website that knows nothing. Right?

Here is a political hint – YOUR MESSAGE IS ONLY ANGRY LIKE CHILDREN BEING MAD AT A MOMMY. So stop what you are doing, as it does not work. NOT AT ALL. So STOP. Suck it up, give a little, and then, and only then, come back in a year with a new message.

Or don’t and continue to lose. And we all lose.

Whose That Girl?

Every once in a while, we get shocked. And sure enough, this time we too are shocked. So it is with sitting council member Ladonna Sherwood.

Now, we heard about a wreck in downtown Beaumont this past week, where witnesses said that sitting councilmember LaDonna Sherwood got into her car, and was talking to someone out in the street, then put it into reverse and hit a BMW. Three witnesses that the Review spoke with told us the same story, and said that Sherwood took off in her car and left the area with a man following her in another auto. They told us that the person following her was not following her because she hit a car; he was following her because they were going home together.

Okay?

So then we asked the question to all three. Hey, did Sherwood act intoxicated? And all three laughed and said hell yes, and that she was drunk.

So we called our sources at PD. And of course, it is a sitting city council person, so they had no comment. Then, on the side, one told us that we needed to check her records. And we said okay – we already did. This time, however, we used a new system that the state provides for all cases in the state of Texas.

After that, we wanted to throw up.

The Southeast Texas Political Review has learned that sitting city councilperson LaDonna Sherwood has been arrested twice now for DUI and possession of a controlled substance. However, she, unlike many who are black in the community, has gotten a pass on charges in the DA’s office. If Sherwood had been arrested this time, she would have had to do jail time.

Let us explain.

First, Sherwood lost her driver’s license for refusal to take a field sobriety test in October of 2010. She was issued an ID during the period of her suspension. See here:

Here is her normal DL record as given to us by DPS:

Now, on her official criminal records search with the state of Texas, this interesting Tidbit comes in. Seemingly, Sherwood was arrested in Jefferson County for Posession of Cocaine. Here look:

So we go…”WHAT?” How did we here at the Review miss this one? We check out every single candidate to keep things clean! And what? We missed this?

And then we get on the phone and start calling around. Of course, the big dogs don’t want to talk about it. Why? Most are white guys and girls, and they need the black community to vote for them, and they know the rule. You go against them, and they will vote you out of office. That’s simple. It is a game. It is never about who is best qualified (please review the City of Port Arthur); it is the color of their skin.

However! It is us, and we reach very far into the power structures of both parties, and we learned what? Well, it seems that LaDonna was arrested for possession of Cocaine. And this happened in October of 2017. But NOOOOOOO, the evidence (according to officers who were interviewed) was mishandled and POOF – it was gone, and the DA dropped the charges.

So we posted about the incident downtown last week, and the phones lit up. There is a back story here.

According to those we have interviewed (11 people), they are concerned for LaDonna’s health. Most call her a closet alcoholic who doesn’t even try to hide it. Her drinking is out of control, she is allegedly known to take a toot every once and awhile, and now that she is a public figure and has gotten away with it all from time to time with the police, and they say the DA is too scared to touch it, LaDonna is a walking time bomb.

Now here is our take.

We looked up the 2010 records and found the suspension, but no adjudicated connection (s) to records. We are told that the records were expunged. But we see no filing for expundgement. Why? Well, who knows – this is Jefferson County, right? And the council clerk was … at that time, Carolyn Guidry. But again? Who knows.

We believe the witnesses. They saw her, described her car, the police are getting the video, and she has problems. Too many people saw it. However, and again, she will get a class B charge of leaving the scene of an accident, but will not receive a DUI. Some of the witnesses are big-name people.

But the Queen of the City Council is now outted. But we are taking another look at it, and we do not want to see any harm to anyone. Even the Queen herself, we want her to be happy, successful, and a role model to the CHILDRENS of Jefferson County! Getting into a wreck and running away is not the way to do that? Do you think?

Here is the bottom line – if she is an honorable person, she needs to stand up, say she is sorry, get into a program, and STOP DRINKING. It is going to catch up with her. And maybe, just maybe, she will heed the warning someone is trying to tell her. STOP DRINKING, STOP USING, and fix herself.

Now that everyone knows she has a problem, be assured that every single bar she goes into, the management is going to worry about the DramShop Law. And you guys who are her friends – BE A FRIEND AND TALK STRAIGHT.

We are predicting that this lady will ignore all of it and will do what she wants. This is just another example of what we see in Jefferson County, Texas. Hey, it is just another great day in Beaumont! Right?
